the Morocco bang and Pyrotechnics
SKILLS USED: Safety, organization, and clear communication.
Morocco Bang
This was clearly a massive team effort including specialists. I'm absolutely over the moon to have been there and proud to have played my part in the one take wonder.
This was actually pre-bang. It was so hot out there that our fuel containing IBCs deformed in the afternoon sun.
And Pyrotechnics
Above is the reverse side of a series of strafes I worked on. During the reload I disconnected all of the spent pyro so it could be pulled through the wall, and received the fresh tails of the new charges. As always I ensured that the battery box was disconnected and that each hit was reconnected to the corresponding number on the loom. A well prepared work area, organization, communication, and attention to detail are crucial when working with pyro in a situation like this. Some of the common makes of pyro we use in special effects are: De La Mare, Tony Lewis, M.P. Associates, La Maitre, Köhler Pyrotechnik, and Wells Fireworks. As far as firing systems go iGNiUS is the go to for UK special effects. The equipment ranges from a basic single switch to 16 way striker (individual brass rungs connected by a brass ‘screwdriver’ to complete the circuit, as used on the strafe run above) or a 24 way sequencer (automated firing at a set interval).
I currently have 99 Pyro Days.
