OG Gus at his home in Guatemala.

First off it's a bit weird, I'm well aware.

Moving slightly on from David, this is my second 'large' build.

The model came from https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-enucleated-man-49670  It's a stone sculpture in the National Museum of Anthropology in Guatemala - listed as "Enucleated man".

I recently picked up an old used projector and am interested in projection mapping custom animations onto found objects. The plan is for this to be test subject number one. Stay tuned.

I stayed out of SolidWorks this time to preserve the original poly count. I used a similar trial and error system as David to shell out the model (10mm thick this time). I sliced the model in Meshmixer, no tabs/slots were added. I assembled it with PET 3D Gloop! but used a 3d pen with PETG on the backside for good measure.

Even with 10mm thick pieces the PETG lets light through well.  I still haven't had a chance to work on the projected animation, but I'm also interested in working on a future project  where either the harsh grid lines are dissolved by removing the printed perimeter on each piece (leaving just the front/back "skin" on each tile) - or turning it into a feature by following the contours of the model / making a jigsaw pattern out of them.

More to come as I have the time.
